When I get it connected with my desktop and it works, when I take controller downstairs to connect to my Dell 7530 laptop where it used to connect, it fails to connect, and I have to remove it as a device and re-pair. Then I bring it upstairs to my desktop PC and it fails to connect, I have to remove it and re-pair.
On either laptop or desktop, after it is paired, I can turn BT off, then on and press home button and it connects. But if I pair it to a different PC, it can not pair again to the other PC without removing the device from BT list in windows. It has done this multiple times. I had heard the controller does not remember any previous pairing, nothing changes inside it, so is it just lousy hardware?

To reconnect after BT is off, I turn BT on, and with controller off, I press home button.
What it ends up doing is the light flashes steady blue interval, turns violet and is not connected, so the only way to connect is remove from BT list and go through pair process,(hit share and home button together with windows bluetooth looking for device.

I am not that familiar with BT, as I have avoided it from years long ago when it was always giving me trouble. But now have grandkids who play games. The Apple IMAC Retina display with BT controller called VOYEE always just works. I have also bought another wireless BT and 2.4ghz game controller with great reviews on Amazon as it can do wireless without BT. My BT adapter in the desktop is a TPLINK 5.4 UB500 and the TPLINK driver is installed. The Dell 7530 Laptop is Intel BT.

New controller just bought is

I found out that PS-403 can only link to one PC, it can not link to multiple PC, you have to start over, meaning cant move it easily between PC. Apparently they do remember the BT connections. That ACEGamer and VOYEE can remember multiple PC etc.. BT connections

🔵 Why your PS‑403 keeps failing when switching PCs

Most higher‑quality controllers store multiple pairing keys (e.g., PC, phone, console).Your PS‑403 almost certainly stores only one.

So the sequence looks like this:

  1. Pair with Desktop → controller stores Desktop key
  2. Pair with Laptop → controller overwrites Desktop key
  3. Go back to Desktop → Desktop still has the old key, but the controller doesn’t
  4. Result → Windows thinks it’s paired, but the controller refuses to connect
  5. You must remove and re‑pair to generate a new matching key
This is why your VOYEE and AceGamer controllers behave better — they support multi‑device pairing or use a 2.4 GHz dongle that bypasses Bluetooth entirely.
