Game controller driver gives input when controller switched off

I have a generic NoNameee game controller. It's wireless and came with its own dongle. Works perfectly on my Win10 machine but on my Win 11 machine the driver appears to give input to the game - e.g Minecraft - even when the controller is switched off. With the controller switch off and the dongle disconnected games believe there is a controller attached. I get the usual sort of Press A to start game for example. In Minecraft I can't use the keyboard completely and my character just looks straight up at the sky. Other games will allow me to use the keyboard.

The only way to stop this is to disable the driver, which is from Microsoft 2006 v. 10.0.26100.78920

Its annoying so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

IMO, it's better to use a wired x-box controller for gaming on Windows. There's too much latency in wireless connections. Windows 11 blocks functional, legitimate drivers for perfectly compatible hardware if the manufacturer doesn't pay Microsoft for the digital signature. You could probably still use your controller with the current driver by turning off driver integrity checks and turning on test signing (how to do that can be found with a google search) but that severely compromises the security of any windows computer set to update automatically.

None. Manully configured so nobody except me can change any critical system files. (Don't ask how, it's probably against some rule somewhere)
Thanks for the reply but none of that fixes the problem that it works fine on Win 10 but not on 11.
