I was prompted to update to windows 11 I clicked update. Everything seemed to be normal It got to the point of restarting my computer. That update did something. In the bootup process, I get bootmgr is missing message and of course, I have seen my desktop since. I would appreciate it if someone could advise me on how to fix this. I wasn't sure if I should put this post under the general discussion category.

Roll back the update and then try again, unless you have an image then use that

I take it you do not have a backup from which to recover.
On another computer, use one of the methods in the following article to create Windows 11 installation usb flash drive. Download Windows 11

Boot the computer from the bootable drive and follow this procedure to fix bootmgr missing.

@Marshall Moore More than likely, at the splash screen your can hit f12 to enter boot options where you can select the boot usb drive. If f12 doesn't work try ESC.

I believe I can get into BIOS. My approach is to double-check that the boot order is correct. If that works great! If not I have made a bootable Windows 11 USB with Windows Media Creation Tool. I will try to get into WinRe and try troubleshooting from there. I have been working all day I don't feel like getting into a possible 3-hour ordeal right now. I will let you know how it turns out. I will mark this thread solved when it is solved. I am going to fix it one way or another. Like, take it to a PC repair shop. I want to try first, but I am not going to beat myself up over it and get stressed out lol.

Boot order should have "windows boot manager" first if using uefi. Good luck.
