Have just seen a video regarding the browser called Brave and am quite keen to try it as the site claims to be more secure than Chrome etc
So would be interested in any members experience with this browser before installing the browser.

I once used Brave and had no arguments with the browser itself. It is Chromium based, as is Chrome and Edge. I was inclined to move away from Chromium based browsers and went to Firefox.

Brave has been my default browser for yonks. It is Chromium based, there's nothing wrong with that (don't confuse Chromium technology with Google Chrome) and it takes all the add-ons/extensions that you wil ever need.

I have been using Brave for a couple of years, seems to work well.
My Brave stats says it has:
Blocked 7,913,330 trackers and ads, Saved 12.69GB of bandwidth and 4.69 days time saved.

I use Brave on my Android phone mostly aside from Edge or Chrome. Basically because of the built in Ad-blocker. It is nice and built on Chromium as well. Test it out against other browsers and see which works best for you.

Ok folks it seems to be a popular browser to use so I will give it a try. If nothing else it steers me away from the resource hog of Edge and the intrusive Chrome browser and I like the idea of it being an adblocker too because all things being good I don't know about everyone else those ads are very tedious and annoying.;-)

I've used a version of Brave for some years now. As it's based on Chromium, it accomodates most add-ins, extensions and so on. It uses "The Cloud" for fast page reads and when I deploy the Memory Cache on the Nvme 1TB C Drive from Crucial, the effect seems almost instantaneous (16GB RAM). The publishers claim Brave does not "leak" to Google (probably true enough based on some responses I've had) and is as secure as may be.

I actually use a portable version (githubdotcom/portapps) because the initial version deliberately has no facility to hold updates and these can become irritating. The portable version, though, is not updated at all often if that bothers you.

Ok Ian well the experience so far has been fairly good though I had some difficulties getting to use the browser with my most used sites added to the next tab screen. What I find rather gratifying is that it only uses a lot less memory space around about half what Edge was gobbling up!!.

Check the online reviews. There are cons which some express, one having to do with the advertising. (Sry, can't further explain, not familiar with Brave but have read reviews)

A positive it is rated one of the most secure preventing tracking.

There is no advertizing in Brave...perhaps you are thinking about Brave Rewards, where you can gain tokens for watching ads; if so, it is completely voluntary and can be ignored, as I do.

Such unjustified comment(s) need to be challenged/corrected. Totally controllable and shows the inexperience/ignorance of the user(s) in blindly/lazily accepting the default settings. As is the case with any/every browser.

Not unaverse to FFox as no.2 browser, and Opera as no.3 browser
Google Chrome nowhere to be seen on any of 6 devices in this household.

Yes csun mate as trevo said the ads are completely voluntary with that rewards system though I have only been using Brave for just over a day I find it quick and so much more economical on resources having only taken up half of what Edge was using.

Well mate each to his own it is just that it suits me better from a speed and a smaller drain on my memory resources than either Edge or Chrome. I have used FF way back in the past and yes it was very user friendly so enjoy!!

Well csun mate I am just two days into using the browser and so far am finding it really good and I am a fan of the Edge browser but the savings in the resources in the Task Manager and speed have now got me liking it that much more than some have found it to be. I think it must be said that Brave has to be set up a little differently and needs a little practice but the end result is for me is worth the setting it up.:-)
