A lady walks into a grocery on Monday, and asks the clerk if he had any fresh broccoli, to which he replied "No ma'am. We only have frozen and canned broccoli."
She came back on Tuesday, asked the same question, and received the same reply.
She came back again on Wednesday with the same question.
The clerk then asked the lady, "Can you spell cat as in catastrophe?"
She said yes and spelt the word cat.
He then said "Can you spell dog as in dogma?"
She said yes,and spelt the word dog.
Then he said "Can you spell fork as in broccoli?"
She replied "But young man, there is no fork in broccoli!"
"That's what I've been trying to tell you since Monday!"
