Solved browser push notifications in Facebook will not turn on.

I've run into a real head scratcher that is DRIVING ME CRAZY that I can't seem to fix. I was getting desktop popup notifications from Facebook in the bottom right corner of my screen until all of a sudden a couple days ago I wasn't. I went into my Facebook settings, went over to the left side of the screen and clicked on "Notifications". I then scrolled down to the section near the bottom that says "Where you receive notifications" and clicked on the word "Browser" like I always do. I noticed immediately that "Chrome push notifications" was turned off. Thought "That's weird, always have it on" so I turned it on, and the slider went to the on position but it was very light in color along with every other notification setting. I knew something wasn't right so I refreshed the page and it went back to off. Tried again and got the same result. I tried it on a different browsers (Firefox, and Edge) got the same result. So that rules out Chrome as the problem. Turned off all my extensions in in including adblockers, no change. Now comes the weird part. Went to my wife's Windows 11 laptop and into her Facebook notifications settings (She has Firefox) and her browser push notifications was turned on a nice dark blue color like it is suppose to be. So out of curiosity I turned it to off then back to on and it did the same thing my desktop. So now I've got 2 computers that won't display Facebook notifications! CAN ANYONE HELP ME??? I'm about ready to take it down to the computer repair place but I thought I'd give you guys a chance first. You've always been I great help to me in the past. I'm afraid to ask any of you with Facebook to turn yours off and then back on to see if it behaves correctly.

I'm starting to think it's Facebook itself??

It is misleading isn't it?
Make sure to click the padlock in the address bar while on the Facebook page to Allow Notifications.
That way, it is globally set, rather than having to set it on every other Facebook/Messenger devices on which it's running.

I get Facebook/Messenger notifications OK though, so maybe log out from all devices where Meta is running?

As a side note, I had 37 active logins on 5 devices ( actually 3 physical & 2 virtual ), some logins dating back to 16 months.
Why doesn't Meta log you out after a period of inactivity, I'll never know.

Got the same issue on Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi and Opera browsers. The only one where you can have the popup notification (at least for messenger) seems likely Edge.

It's good to know I'm not the only one, but I'm sorry for you at the same time. It's very frustrating to have to open up Facebook every time to see if I have any "Likes", "Comments", or "Messages".

IT'S FIXED!!!!!!!!!!! Found out the problem was caused by a faulty Microsoft update. Went to Microsoft Update catalog, Downloaded and installed patch KB5077744, and it fixed the problem!!!

Still don't get any push desktop notifications from Facebook though but at least the browser push notifications turn on.
