Since upgrading to the latest version of Windows 11 I have seen a rash of BSOD events. The Blue Screen just flashes for a second and I have not been quick enough to even see what it syas, let alone capture the QR code. I download a freewear called "Who Crashed" but it is pretty useless only reporting a crash from 2023. The complete Log Collector report can be accessed here: CMS_GRAM-(2025-06-08_18-42-20).zip

Please perform the following steps:

1) Run Tuneup plus > post a share link

2) Uninstall Kaspersky AV using the applicable uninstall tool:

3) Make sure that defender is on > perform updates

4) Create a new restore point

5) Post a link for the motherboard website > report any BIOS updates newer than:

BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies Ltd. T4ZF0070 X64, 1/10/2022

6) Run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

Memtest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

The RAM can be tested all at one time or one at a time in the same DIMM.

Hello Zbook and thank you for your help;
I attempted to perform each of the steps that you suggested.
1) The batchfile ran flawlessly, but it hung up for about 20 minutes in step 3, restore health at 62.3%. Attached is the report that was generated.
2) I uninstalled Kaspersky.
3) Defender was already activated and updated.
4) I was unable to create a restore point as the radio buttons I needed to push to activate were greyed out and non-active.
5) I did not understand very well the request to post a link for the motherboard website. As far as I can tell the motherboard is a standar issue one for this LG Electronics Gram and is manufactured by them. All the drivers in the laptop appear to be up-to-date. There are no exclamation points visible in Device Manager.
6) I downloadad MemTest 86+ and ran the installation program, formatting a USB as suggested in the installation. My understanding was that when I re-booted with the USB memory in place it would automatically reboot in safe mode and start running memory tests. That did not happen. I then went into startup configuration and changed it to re-start in safe mode. When it did, the MemTest still did not run and I discovered that this process had erased my login PIN and I was no longer able to access the laptop to do anything. This started an adventure that lasted several hours and resuted in my resetting Windows in my laptop, saving my documents (minimum reset option).
This terminated successfully and I started restoring the few programs that I have installed (Chrome, LibreOffice, Quicken Classic, and Adobe Acrobat Pdf reader). I was able to do everything without a hitch until the latest Windows update when the BSOD started again. There have been 3 BSODs so far today during about 5 hours of usage.

1) For Memtest86+ please boot to the flash drive (not safe mode):

To boot from a USB Flash Drive instead of your hard drive, you must select it using the Boot Menu.
The Boot Menu is usually available by pressing F8, F12 or ESC at early startup.
Please check your PC/motherboard manual.

2) Please post a URL link for the computer to view available BIOS.

3) Post a new Tuneup plus (after the reset)

4) Create a new restore point (after running Tuneup plus)

5) Post a new V2 (after the reset and after running Tuneup plus and creating a restore point)

1) Was able to successfully run the MemTest86+ test for 11 passes without any errors. It appears that for whatever reason when the LG Gram boots from a USB it erases the microsoft windows user PIN. I tried again various things to get it back without success. When I clicked on the button for a new PIN a screen flashed but then closed just like the last time. I decided to enjoy my lunch, came back an hour later and it appears that the software during the lapse of time accomodated itself and clicking on the reset PIN button did in fact open the new PIN routine and I was able to get back in. Attached is a screenshot of the Test Screen when I ended the test.

2) This is the website for Support for my laptop:
On the Phoenix website they say that support is only available from the OEM (LG Electronics). The link shown here is as close as I could get to the BIOS information. My laptop has a program called "LG Update Center" that seems to do a pretty good job of keeping all the drivers up to date. I tried to pry more information from the chat which is available 24/7 but they referred me to the link shown here.

3) The tuneup ran much faster this time. Attached is the latest tuneup report.

4) Restore point point created.

5) Here is the latest V2.

Since I ran the memory test and restarted I have gotten several BSODs. Attached is a photo of what they look like.

I got on the LG Electronics USA website again and had a chat with tech support. There is no other BIOS released and he said that it is only made available by means of the LG Update Center. I have a transcript of the chat if you are interested

Right now I am looking at the effects of the Windows Updates (I just did the latest one that came through, 2025-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5063060). The other thing I am trying is the difference between running on battery and on AC power.

The other thing I eliminated is comms between my cell and the laptop. On both my HP at work a few years ago and this laptop, any apps that connect more functions using the cellphone have been fatal.

1) Run Sea Tools Long generic test (all drives) > post images or share links

2) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

chkdsk /b /v

Run these chkdsk switches on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk /b /v C: or chkdsk /b /v D: or chkdsk /b /v E: etc.

Make sure that the windows drive runs overnight while sleeping.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /b /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type: Y

Reboot as needed.

3) After completing all chkdsk /b /v run:

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging - Windows 10 Help Forums

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging - Windows 10 Help Forums

Make sure that this runs only after the prior three steps for each drive.

4) Run HD Sentinel (all drives) > post images or share links (do not run until posting results for each steps 5, 6, 7 and 8)

Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring
a) Overview
b) Temperature

The HD Sentinental test was very short.

Attached are the results.

Due to the fact that my laptop was getting to the point of being unusable due to critical process died, floowed closely by Memory Management, I have started rolling back Windows updates to the pint where I can continue using my laptop.

I plan to continue working with this and may consider re-installing some updates as we go forward.

Let me know what you think.
