BSOD Watchdog Violation

I think I solved it but I just want to be sure and see if my diagnosis is correct.

5950x not overclocked
Aorus Master X570S
64gigs DDR4 Neo Trident Z 4000mhz XMP enabled
7900XTX not overclocked
EVGA 1000 WATT gold certified PSU


Yesterday my rig froze and the Watchdog Violation BSOD occurred. I rebooted it and after a few minutes it happened again.

Ran all the scans and nothing came up faulty or corrupted.

Turned it off and swapped power cables thinking maybe the PSU cable to the wall was bad. It's 12yrs old and I intend on replacing very soon.
It actually wouldn't turn on. All the LEDs flashed and nothing worked.
I started unplugging things. Well the first thing I unplugged was the RGB cable from the motherboard and the flashing stopped.
I can now turn it back on.
Well, now it wouldn't boot and the error code I got was 0d. I think it was ram related? So I removed 3 sticks and left one in.
It retrained and booted.
Turned the system off and reinstalled the other 3 ram sticks.
Made it to the BIOS and a message appeared stating it defaulted to factory settings.
Had to re-enable XMP, above 4g decoding, and whatever else needed to activate SAM for the 7900XTX.
It has been working perfectly fine for the last day and a half.

Now I am not 100% certain all this was caused by a faulty RGB cable/device so what do you all think?
