When I log into Windows 11 24H2, I see that the Start button has a white square around it. I've never seen this in Windows 11 23H2. I’m using Start11 and guess this might be a bug in the app?

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? I should add that this doesn't happen every time I log into Windows. It seems to occur sporadically. When I click on the desktop, the white square disappears.

Check the Start Menu button in Start11 settings. Not sure if it’s the same in both versions, what version are you using v1 or v2?

It could be the hover state icon is temporarily showing for some reason, I don’t know.
It could be that they need to tweak Start11 for 24H2

Best you first make sure you’re using the latest version by going to your account and checking the downloads section.
Or by opening Start11 and checking the about tab.
If you are, post in the forum section above as suggested.

Is that the custom button I found called Winglow?

I loaded it and I am not seeing it as a hover state or any of the states.

I would suggest changing the button, then changing back again. Or changing the button and leaving it to test for a while.

The latest version for Start11v2 is 2.11

I’ve tried switching to a different start button and then back to the default Windows button. Let’s see if that helped. As I mentioned earlier, this issue happens sporadically.

That's odd because I don't see that button in Start11v2.

Anyway, see how you go. But like I said, they have a forum

24H2 is a new public release and they were making changes working with a preview. I'd guess it wont be long before they produce version 2.12

That's odd because I don't see that button in Start11v2.

24H2 is a new public release and they were making changes working with a preview. I'd guess it wont be long before they produce version 2.12

This is becuse i have the costum button option turned off, I like more to have the default button.

I tried to change Windows button earlier today as someone suggested, but it didn't help. The white square came back. Don't know if it's Windows or Start11 that doing this.

Not sure if its worth my mentioning again that they have a help forum?

Unless there is someone else in here that is running both 24H2 and Start11v2, and has the same problem you have, it would seem like an obvious direction to take.

Isnt a Windows bug. I use the same version and i dont have this issue.
I guess the cause is start11.
