Bye-bye gadgets

I love the Windows Gadget Pack. I love having the little gadgets giving me the status of my network card, CPU and GPU to refer to at a glance.

Sadly, I have had to retire them. I have become tired of fighting with them as they move around the screen every time I come back from sleep and I have to put them back to where I want them yet again. I have a pretty good idea as to why they do this. I think it is because I have my 4K monitor scaled at 150% so I can read the fonts, and my other monitor is 1080p. I think this is mixing up Windows. I think my solution is to buy another 4K monitor. At least then my scaling will be consistent. We shall see.

So for now, I regrettably relegate gadgets to my unused apps folder, but as soon as I can find a fix they are going back. Call me crazy if you like.

Are you running the latest version of gadgetpack though?
It fixes a few bugs, like inconsistent startup and random closing.
You could try disabling the sidebar pane and just show the gadgets, which is what I do.
Maybe Rainmeter instead?
I have a QHD 2nd monitor and no issues.

I just picked up the release of the new gadget pack, so I think I will try it and see what happens. I hope it works.
