How can I get a calendar that does more than simply display the date? I would like to be able t enter appointments, birthdays ans reminders like I used to be able to do in Win10.
Why did MS provide a calendar that can't do these basic functions???? Is there something in Win11 that I'm missing???

BTW.... when I looked up my build and version number I couldn't copy.... so I had to write it down an then type it into the field....

Really?????? copy wouldn't work???? Another one of so many shortcomings of win11

Check out Onecalender, which you can install on your phone and computer. You can write whatever you want to each day and they both sync across devices instantly.

What email app do you use?

I believe if you toggle on “New Outlook” in the Windows email app, or if you already have it, there is a calendar in it.
I don’t use it so I can not confirm but that’s the news I have read.

Also, I don’t think you’re required to put ………….. at the end of a thread title. (y)

I have the "Mail" app on my phone. The white envelope on a blue background. Is that what you mean by Windows email app?

I don't see a "New Outlook" to toggle on.

Sorry about the ....... in the thread title.

ExplorerPatcher restores the classic clock flyout from Windows 10 (that has the show/hide calendar option in it at the bottom) by default. See:

I'm sorry, "classic clock flyout"? I have no idea of what that is and I'm not interested in a "clock", I just want a functioning calendar like we used to have before Win11 took it away.

And I have no idea of what the black screen of properties means related to a calendar.

Sorry, I'm not well informed about a lot of this.....

I have the "Mail" app on my phone. The white envelope on a blue background. Is that what you mean by Windows email app?
The Mail app is a system app that is a part of Windows itself. If you can't seem to find it anywhere, it should still be possible to create a new desktop shortcut to it, at least until Microsoft will permanently remove this app later this year. Here's how to create this shortcut:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...app-mail/bf289df3-cde6-452b-af26-4e8821265d0a

Microsoft is replacing this Mail app with another app, the New Outlook app. Where this gets totally annoying IMO, the Mail app is being replaced automatically all the time in spite of the fact that the Mail app hasn't been permanently removed just yet. So, each time when this happens again, I have to run the following command to get it back:
Code:
del %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Migration\settings.json
hq720.jpg

I don't see a "New Outlook" to toggle on.

If your Mail & Calendar App is updated to the current date.
This is what you get, New Outlook is only downloaded when you toggle on the Try.
Other than that, the splash screen is a bit annoying.

The Mail & Calendar App has been around since Windows 8, almost 10 years, so nothing to do with Windows 11 as such.

You maybe better off just diving in to New Outlook's Calendar.
