I really liked the Windows 10 photo app for video editing prior to uploading to YouTube for final editing. Am I able to install this app and if so where can I find it. I did upgrade from 10 to 11 so I guess it may already be here. Thanks for looking!

Most apps and devices that work with Windows 10 should work as expected under Windows 11. The new operating system is sufficiently similar to its predecessor that the differences shouldn't pose a problem for most apps.

In Windows 11 you have the Microsoft Clipchamp video editor. Even the video editor in the Windows 10 version of Photos suggests you use Clpchamp instead.

I am aware of that, but the functionality is nowhere the same. Also the version of your Photos app is too new if it is telling you that. I am looking for a previous version. I had Windows 10 Home 10.0.22000.318 prior to upgrading to Win11.

I believe what you want is the old Windows Photo Viewer. It is still in Win11 but slightly hidden and not one of the options when setting your default photo app.
You can get it back by adding a registry entry. Then it can be selected as default to handle all your photos..

No, its not that. The Win10 Photos app has a video editor function. The Windows 11 one doesn't. It's the video editor that the OP wants....

For fast and simple editing, we've added Clipchamp to the Microsoft family. You can find it in Microsoft Store, or you can find the install button within Photos by selecting Settings , then selecting Get Clipchamp. Make sure you have the latest version of the Photos app.

Notes: To use the Legacy Video Editor instead, you can download and install Microsoft Photos Legacy from Microsoft Store.

In my new (to me) laptop with Windows 11, which hasn't been used much - it suggests you can still use the Windows 10. I typed "Video Editor" into the search box, having not used it yet on this computer, and this came up.

It says you can download Photos legacy from Microsoft Store.
