Can I receive incoming phone calls on my PC without using a mobile?

MagicJack is $50 to buy then £43 a year. Unlimited calls. Sounds good to me if you can leave a spare PC running all the time. And it works with any handset.

Oops, it's USA only

Have you tried Zello? It's available on all OSes but can only call people who also have it installed. I like it because the other party does not have to accept your call, it's more like using walkie-talkies but FREE.
Not heard of it, but as the main point of this is to allow people to call me from their regular phone, or for me to call their phone, it doesn't sound like it gives me anything more than Skype. If someone has Skype installed, we can call each other for free, no phones involved.

Thanks anyway

Have you asked your broadband supplier? Who is it and do you have FTTC or FTTP? You can buy VOIP handsets easily but you would have to pay for some calls.

My supplier is Plusnet, but I have no idea if they offer FTTC or FTTP, partly because I have no idea what they are!

OK. What thingy is connected to your landline wall socket for your broadband? Can you post a picture? And are you a domestic or business user?

Try a company called B online. I spoke to them and they are offering a Voip phone service for £10 a month with a free handset, but a £10 delivery cost. Their website is for businesses but the agent assured me that they will accept residential customers. I will send you a personal message with a copy of the offer.
