Solved Can I sync between different email clients.

Why does this need to be a "private conversation" when the posts/thread is clearly public?

OP, be weary when sharing info.
I am aware that we do not know each other but I'm assuming we are only talking about settings, not content or personal details of accounts.

OK - maybe we won't need to exchange detailed settings....

I may be wrong, and have just been lucky, but I don't think that the Setting on the Gmail web interface that you referenced controls the way that the Android Gmail app work. The setting that you referenced allows you to import email messages into your Gmail account, which is NOT what you need to do.

What I have done is set up all 4 email accounts as accounts in Android (Android settings > Users and Accounts >Personal (IMAP)), and then in the settings for each of those accounts, tick 'Sync Email', and then set up the server settings as they are for eM Client on the PC. Similarly in eM Client on W11, set up the Google Account(s) with IMAP access.

The only thing that you need to ensure on the overall Gmail settings in the web interface is under 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP', make sure that the POP settings are NOT enabled, and that the IMAP ones are enabled.

Doing it this way also enables you to keep contacts and calendar in sync between eM Client and Android.

Hope that this makes sense - if you need clarification or help on detailed settings, come back to me.

Thanks Richard. Major question which could be the issue -
How are you putting the emclient account into Gmail on the Android? Similarly, on the PC in emclient, how are you adding the Gmail account details? Could this be my problem I wonder? As I stated previously, I could not understand how Gmail and emclient knew each other existed. I assumed my Ionos email server was the go between.

OK - probably easiest if I take some screen shots from both - give me a little while to do that, and I'll see if I can make it clearer. In a way, your IONOS server AND the Gmail server ARE the go-betweens, because IMAP reflects everything that you do back to the servers, from where the other client accesses it.

I think there's bit of confusion here...
eM Client is a software host,
Gmail is Google web service...,

Gmail is not seeing any eM Client account,
you're simply allowing eM Client to host your mail account(s).

Absolutely you need to add the gmail account as an extra account - similarly you add your IONOS account (s) to Android so that Gmail App can pick them up

Richard, Wow. That was a lot of work. Thanks. I have added the Gmail account to emclient. In Android, the phone already has the Ionos account details as it is receiving emails already. My menus are not appearing the same as yours. The Android OS is the latest as it is a new Google Pixel 7 Pro. The only Personal I could find shows as Personal Pop3. Are the settings you have shown Gmail settings or Android settings?

Well I think we should be on the same version of Android, as my phone is on Android 13...

BUT - I now see that I missed Google EMC 2.jpg a step, because I hadn't needed to use it for years. When you are on this screen:
you need to press 'Add account', and you get a list of account types, from which you can select Personal (IMAP).

After that it should work?

Richard, I deleted the POP3 account on the mobile and added the Ionos IMAP account. Ran a test email from phone and another from emclient and all seems ok. Several minute delay getting the email on Gmail which was worrying.
HOWEVER, the SENT emails only show in the client they were sent from. If I send an email from Gmail it shows in the Gmail SENT folder but not in the emclient SENT folder. I assumed the SENT folders would sync. Also in emclient SENT folder there are many sent emails dating back 2 weeks. Surely these should now appear in Gmail SENT folder?
