As title says, I can no longer display seconds in system clock. The regedit to add "ShowSecondsInSystemClock" does not work now. Has anybody else experienced this?

It works fine in W10 - I just upgraded and saw it was not working. On youtube, there are videos showing it working (presumably test versions). It is so ****ing annoying that MS deliberately remove such a feature - what possible reason could they have to tell us "we are not letting you display seconds"!

It worked in early versions of Windows 11, but it eventually broke.
I hate everything about the Windows 11 Taskbar. It's a mess.

All I can say is, if you don't need to upgrade to Window 11, then don't.
It's gonna be one of those crappy operating systems that Microsoft like to release from time to time.
You know the ones.

there is a switch on Windows 10 that allows to select display of seconds or not, I am not sure if this is a hidden switch or in one of the sub menus somewhere or not normally shown without some third party tool or use of the registry, all I know is that I do not see the seconds on the taskbar clock in Win10

Have just checked and it's a registry hack or a single click option on Winaero Tweaker

Maybe it's the same on Win 11 but the defaults are swapped

and maybe I should read the whole thread :plead:

Yes, exactly that. The Taskbar notofication area has been completely re-written for W11 and that no longer works. Any screenshots you see showing it working were made with the unofficial leaked build 21996.1 that only had the new Start menu in it. By the time 22000 was released to Insiders the Taskbar had also been replaced.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.
