Can onedrive backup system drive + games + applications + settings ?

I thought onedrive can backup some personal files and windows settings only or it can backup everything in C: drive (apps + games) ? and in that case how to restore the C:\ drive ?

No but you can use tool like Macrium Reflect to make a system image and back that up to one drive.

Having said that, recovery involves downloading image to a separate drive first - not so easy to do if only one pc,,bit you could use a mobile phone at a stretch connected to a usb drive at a stretch.

Also, this can be painfully slow unless you have very fast internet. It is generally not practical without full fibre.

Frankly easier to buy an nvme or sdd and put in a usb enclosure.

A usb HDD is also fine but a bit slow by modern standards. I have several 1TB devices lying around which are used for cheap longer term storage.

Not yet, MS is like 10-20 years behind the world.
