Cannot delete folder/files- Need Admin Permisions??

I don't have the licence key for WIndows available.
If your current install of windows 11 is assigned a digital license, it is tied to the hardware. That digital license is also tied to your MS account if you use one.
You do not need a license key to clean install. It should automatically activate.

I don't blame you. To do a clean install on my main desktop it takes me days to install all of my programs and get it setup like I want it. All of my other computers I can do it within a few hours or so.

The last time on Win7 it took days. I've kept this build pretty lean, but times are different. For example, when Nvidia has a new driver, it prompts you to install, and you have to log in, didn't have that way back when. It's a lot that type of stuff, not so much SW keys, I keep those generally. Eesh, I realized I have to work on my email client so I don't lose everything there.

If the computer came with Windows 11, The key should be in the BIOS. If you want to see the key and save it, there's a program in the MS Store called ShowKeyplus. It was programmed by a forum member.
Correct, I was looking through my records, and the builder mentioned it's in the mobo. Thanks for the ShowKey tip - that's a great piece of software I just used it!! Smart person who developed it, and nice it's free.

Thanks. You know I thought it was in my MS account. However I logged in, and I didn't see it. Perhaps because the OS was purchased through a computer configurator, vs my Office prod key I can find in the account online. I don't know, jst a guess.

The OS was pre-installed, so digital I assume as I don't have disks.

I read something in the clean install guide that suggests otherwise below. Please advise

If you don't enter a product key and click/tap on I don't have a product key, you will be able to select the Windows 11 edition you want to install at step 8 below, but Windows 11 will not be activated.

If the installer finds the key in the BIOS the correct version should be what gets installed. If you decide to clean install, the installer wants you to use your MS Account to continue. This will assign your username as the first five characters of your email address and put your Users files on OneDrive. There are work arounds posted in the forums on how to bypass this.

Have you tried removing the folder using a tool that gives you TrustedInstaller access, such as PowerRun, AdvancedRun, or my Right-Click Tools?

For example, using Right-Click Tools, you would right-click any folder above the one you want to remove and select Cmd as TrustedInstaller and then, at the Cmd prompt that opens up, use the rd command to remove the folder.

For example (assuming UltraAV is no longer running):

C:\>rd /s /q "C:\Program Files\UltraAV"

I know my PC has a MS Account associated with it, as I have that first 5 characters, and files initially were going to OneDrive (I STOPPED that One Drive default crap).

I have not. Those are nice utilties, had I known of them earlier I would have tried.

Everyone has a common, solid, good point, even if the files are deleted, that leaves my registry to deal with. I can make targeted registry edits, but in those cases in Win7 when I did them, it was a literally adding and that was all. I would not trust myself to delete lines (I can do that), but would have no idea if there would be unintended issues later on, a bit risky.

If the computer came with Windows 11
The user has a custom-built one according to his "My Computer" specs. So no Bios key.
Windows will reactivate when connected to the web.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding here. My mobo manual reads during POST I hit F2 to enter the UEFI BIOS.

They're saying that it possible that the key isn't stored in the BIOS but because it was activated with a digital license it should automatically activate. I would use ShowKeyPlus and copy the activation key just to be on the safe side.

This Indian company has some biz arrangement with KAV for US customers due to Feds.
What made you think that it is an Indian company ?
It says in their FAQ:
"UltraAV is a US-based company and is not subject to any geographic restrictions. However, UltraVPN, the premium VPN included with UltraAV, is a Panama-based entity which means UltraVPN is outside the Five Eyes and Fourteen Eyes Alliance. This ensures the highest level of privacy and security for our customers."

At some point in this process of uninstalling, I, everyone else who is dealing with this, will see a popup/flash screen etc and it reads/ signed by MAX SECURE SOFTWARE INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED. So to me it seems they are Indian.

When you google that you see this instantly, and their site has AV and other related products. Their LinkedIn page lists India as well.

Yes, I'm referring to the key that was used to activate Windows. On most if not all OEM computers it is stored in the BIOS.

This was back in 2009 and considered as a "rogue" antivirus program. You can read about it here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/uninstall/12916/UltraAV/

I have no knowledge if this is the same antivirus program or not.

Interesting- I looked at the page you sent. I don't see any of the screens the site posts, but IF it's a coincidence, that sure is a bad one. I have a feeling it is NOT a coincidence, and they are one in the same. Companies check to see if names of products are already taken....

At least one of the software listed in their solution to remove seems not viable for Win 10/11

If you haven't done a clean install in a while I recommend you make yourself very familiar with this procedure.
Simple question for you.

I was looking at the install guide here Create Windows 11 Bootable USB Installation Media Tutorial

Below steps are a bit confusing. I'm reinstalling my OS, wouldn't I want to leave the box checked for Use recommended options? The MS file/s are going on my flash drive.

Either will work for your PC. The difference in the 2 options is when you uncheck "use the recommended options for this PC" the resulting media can be used to install windows 11 on any PC no matter what version of 11 (Home or Pro") or language that PC is running. Many folks have more than one computer with mixed Home and Pro. Having the universal install media makes it easier in that you have to create only the one usb drive to install with.
