Can't access ms outlook email page online

Very weird, I have the outlook web email bookmarked and just click on it and login. When I get through log in I just get a blank white page and a line at the top saying "Please retry with a different device, use a VPN, or other authentification method to sign in. For more details please see The jungle queen" This is on firefox. If I go to that page I get this microsoft page - but I haven't tried to repeatedly login - I did it once and it was the first time for days.

Error 400 when signing in - Microsoft Support

So I tried with Edge instead and got the same message

Should this be under Office and productivity? I'm talking about online webmail. Not the outlook that's part of office.

Thanks. I gave up on it - managed to login on my phone. It's always playing up these days - never have any problems logging into gmail .........

Some stuff to try, Hazel

Don’t wipe your entire history — just do this (Firefox):

Go to Outlook
Click the padlock icon in the address bar — Clear Cookies and Site Data
Refresh the page and log in manually from scratch (not using the bookmark)

What is your Bookmark Address?

Go straight to https://outlook.office.com/mail
- If that works, change the address in your bookmark or create a new bookmark

Try an Incognito tab

In Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P
Go to Outlook from scratch and log in https://outlook.office.com/mail
- If this works, it confirms there's something bad cached in your main profile

Try disabling extensions:

Especially: Ad Blockers, Privacy Badger, Ghostery, DuckDuckGo Privacy, or VPN browser extensions
Then reload Outlook

Saw a Reddit post about it that said changing network helped - tried that and connected with phone hotspot. Still no difference. If this doesn't resolve in 24 hours I'm ditching my email and going somewhere else.

That thread started in May and has the same problem posted every month since. This may indicate that it’s random as I don’t recall seeing a mass freakout about it.

Last offering

In the Firefox address bar, go to the following:

Type in the address bar about:serviceworkers and press enter
Locate anything tied to outlook.office.com
Click Unregister
- The local copy of the Outlook web app's service worker is removed.
- This includes its cached scripts and assets, like offline data, background sync handlers, or pre-fetched HTML/CSS/JS.
- When you next visit outlook.office.com, Firefox will fetch a fresh copy of the site and re-register a new service worker automatically

Sounds like it might be something to do with Starlink IP addresses from what I've read. Although I'm sure not everyone with this error uses Starlink. But why the heck should I get a vpn just to login to outlook.com email on a computer? (It logs in fine on iphone).

Also: I recall you used a hotmail bookmark, is that right?
Ditch it or edit it to point to https://outlook.office.com/mail

Lots of comments about it all over the internet (in the last couple of months), but no solutions seen other than to use a vpn! Some people said using an authenticator resolved it - I already have it linked with the authenticator app.

@Hazel123 It happened to me all day Sunday. Nothing I did let me login thru my Windows browsers, but I could login just fine on my phone when I forced it to use cellular data. Even my phone would not work while using my home network. Monday, everything was fine. I think it's something MS is doing on their end.

Thanks - I'll try tomorrow then. It makes me think they are trying to force you to use the app instead of logging in online - or probably to force you to use 365 or something.
