Why Does this happen and how do i fix it. Local Policy, Cmd, and regedit is available for me.

What have you been playing/messing with?

Somthing to try.

1. “Check Group Policy Settings” (For Windows Pro)
- Open “gpedit.msc” (Press `Win + R` → type “gpedit.msc” → hit Enter).
- Navigate to:
“User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > File Explorer”
- Look for settings related to “Prevent access to drives from My Computer” or similar.
- If enabled, set it to “Not Configured** or **Disabled”.

2. “Verify Registry Settings”
- Open “regedit” (Press `Win + R` → type “regedit” → hit Enter).
- Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
- Look for a key named “NoDrives” or “NoViewOnDrive” — if found, delete it or set it to “0”.

The group policy thing i already did. but theres this thing in regedit called "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" Im not sure if i wanna edit that. and yes i can open explorer

Funny thing. I randomly got the restrictions. probably because i accidently changed a digit in the regedit. and i couldnt any of my steam games. not even opera gx. my goal is to get it back to semi-normal. but i did find the way

Change it to 0, if it doesn’t work, change it back

1. Create your new Local User. Change the account type to Administrator.

2. Login under the new account. Copy user folders from the old user (copying in this direction, so the new user owns THEIR copies of the original files). Also if you're copying, instead of moving files, you can start over again if you made a mistake.

3. Open System Properties, and User Profiles dialog. Find the old user, copy their profile (registry settings) to your new user.

4. Log out & log back on. Worse case, the old account is unchanged.

Did you try a system restore? If it just happened, that would likely restore whatever setting you changed to lock yourself out.
