On my wife's Win 11 computer, she installed an old version of 2010 Word and it says that app is not compatible and opens Word, but a popup window comes us and wants her to create an account and sign in. She doesn't really want to do that, but if we need to, we will.
She would rather use Wordpad to open an RTF. I can't change it to Wordpad. I've tried it in Settings Apps and also right clicking the file and choosing Open With and choosing WordPad always. I think I need to do a Regedit unless someone has an easier way to do it. I think part of it is MS trying to force her to upgrade Word to 365.
I realize Wordpad is not installed on Win 11, so on my Win 11 computer I manually installed it and did that on my wife's computer. if I hit the Wordpad shortcut it will open a blank Wordpad
