This is a bovine excrement FAKE news media item - not from MS. It is just pathetic journalism sensationalising what we all know.

MS always warn that Dev build (see below) can be unstable and only for those who want to be at leading edge of development.

Beta builds are close to release so should be relatively stable now.

Dev is same as Beta and is about to diverge. Once diverged, new features come along for testing. Inevitably new bugs, and instability.

That inane article just tells us what happened after every release of Windows 10 (and now Windows 11)!

About the Dev & Beta Channels​

As a reminder, we are evolving the way we develop and release to Insiders with the Dev and Beta Channels now representing parallel development paths from our engineers. The Dev Channel will be a place where we will try out different concepts, incubate new ideas, and work on long lead items that may not get released to general customers. The Beta Channel will be the place we preview experiences that are closer to what we will ship to our general customers. However, this does not mean every feature we try out in the Beta Channel will ship. We encourage Insiders to read this blog post from last month that outlines the ways we’ll try things out with Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels.

These aren’t always stable builds, and sometimes you will see issues that block key activities or require workarounds. It is important to make sure you read the known issues listed in our blog posts as we document many of these issues with each flight.

The here’s hoping bit was referring to the zero development at the moment so it will be good to get back to a proper dev channel rather than the as you so eloquently put it, the “bovine excrement” at present

Marketing ploy -- if you say there's going to be a 7 hr traffic jam today on a route you HAVE to use with no viable alternatives and it's "Only 3 hrs" a lot of people will be "relieved" in spite of the fact with a bit of better management and planning the time could have been reduced to say 30 mins. !! It's a well known marketing ploy when you are under pressure -- exaggerate the worse so if even "slightly better" customers think they've got a good deal.

"Marketing and Advertising 101 chaps" !!!!
