Solved Cant get Chrome to be my default browser

Just installed Chrome. Every time I open it, it asks me if I want to make it my default browser. I click the "default browser" button, and Windows brings me to an applet where I do not have the ability to make Chrome my default browser.

Ideas?

Thanks in avoidance.

Go to settings>apps>default apps>scroll down to "choose defaults by file type." Change the following file types default to Chrome.. Just click on them and select Chrome from list that pops up.
.htm
.html
also .pdf unless you use a 3rd party pdf viewer.

Microsoft links embedded into windows settings pages will still open in Edge.

Right - that's the window that opens when I click the "default browser" button in Chrome. So, I changed .htm and .html to Chrome (was Edge), but that didnt do it. Chrome still asks me if I want to make it my default browser.

That ^ wasn't there; I had to enter Chrome into the search bar, and THEN the option to make it the default browser appeared.
