Windows 11
Hello, my W11 Desktop computer used to take nice little naps (go to sleep) until a few days ago so I went "To change the power mode, select Start > Settings > System > Power & battery. For Power mode, choose the one you want".

The only options that were available were Shutdown or Restart (NOT SLEEP) so my question is, how do I get my W11 Desktop computer to sleep"?

Thank you

Bob

Thank you for your help Not;
You advised me to go to "Settings/Control Panel/Power Options" which I have done this before and SLEEP is not to be found.
FYI, I supposedly am the administrator of my system, but MS apparently has other thoughts.
Any help you can povide would be appareciated
Thank you
Bob

What do you see when you go to Power Options, which should include some preferred plans and a link to change the settings. If you click on that, you ought to then see what your sleep setting is, and how to change that.

Posting a scree shot or two ought to help figure out what your problem is.

I suspect that your display driver has somehow reverted to the MS basic driver. This driver does not permit sleep.
Check this in Device manager, Display adapters.
Go to the Lenovo website to download then reinstall their display driver for your model.

If you are going to have any follow-up questions, please post the response to this command so that replies are relevant:-
PowerCfg -a

Best of luck,
Denis

Thank you for your help guys and I apologize for not posting ScrShots sooner.
I have attached a few although the quality of the photos is not very good but I assume that you are VERY familiar with the actual pages, so I hope that it won't a hinderance.
I realize that you are helping me so please let me know what I can do to make your "job" easier?
Thank you again for your help guys
Bob

Hi again.
I see that the ScrShots got a little fluffed-up so I am attaching 2 more ScrShots for a total of 4

I see that my ScrShots Power Options and Power and Battery did not make it, so after a little modification, I am sending Power Option again.
I am unable to send the Power & Battery ScrShot but it's from a Windows help screen that says To Adjust Power and Sleep settings in W11.......
Start->Settings->System->Power & Battery->Screen & Sleep .............. all these options were not available for me to select from.
Anyway, thank you again for ALL your help
Bob

Thank you guys,
I had trouble downloading the Nvidia driver, so I contacted Lenovo and they fixed the issue by advising me to go to
Control Panel->Power Options->Choose when to turn off display.
And change the "sleep" time to 1 minute.
Thank you again for your help
Bob

Hi guys, I am back again for additional help.
My computer goes to sleep thanks to your help but I noticed that my LG display, Model #27GL63T stays on.
No data is displayed but the backlight is on and I would appreciate your help in how to turn the display off (go to sleep)?
I also noticed that my power options are Shut-Down and Off (no sleep option).
In any event, I appreciate it that you were able to help me put the system to sleep and how that you can help me put my monitor to sleep as well.
Thank you
Bob

I also noticed that my power options are Shut-Down and Off (no sleep option).
I think your display driver is still defective.

Please check the display adapter names in Device manager & re-check that you have re-installed drivers for each of them.
