It used to start at analyze now it starts like this :
Now I have to click twice to run it. How to get iot to start normally? I have it set in options to start in Custom clean not Heath Check.

I'm on version 5.78 and these are my settings...

My CCleaner Tweaks...

I use CCleaner 5.78 I installed it offline, and I blocked it and it's updaters in MY firewall. And... since it was purchased by Avast, I also "added" these lines to my HOSTS file (which "blocks" them)... C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS...

I don't think you can, that seems to be the new start layout for 6.13. But the 'Analyze' and 'Run Cleaner' buttons on that page still work like the ones at the bottom of the old page, so you still only need one click to start either.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.

I still.. crap scrap that though.. its doing it to me now too..
the first boot up today went to the [Custom Clean] screen like it should...
but now its doing the same to me too, @Josey Wales .

I am gonna report it to them on their forums..
its a waste of my time to have to deal with this crap since I actually pay yearly for pro version.

Works like a charm. I would suggest to all who do the quick registry mod to click the "Favorites" button up top in the Editor, then
"Add to Favorites" to make it easy to get back to this entry when a new version comes along.

I saved it it Notebook++ . I am out of likes so thanks. I doubt that Piriform/Avast will do anything to fix it. We will see. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Right. I'm glad you guys found that discussion on the CCleaner Support forum, and I'm really glad my solution worked for you. There is a complication, though: If in settings for CC, you click Save all settings to .ini, after a couple of reboots, you may not find all of those .cfg settings in the reg anymore.

I'm in a running battle with Piriform/Avast to stop the cra**ing around, and get rid of that screen. It's actually a set of screens that varies from edition of CC to edition.

CC support (they're in the Philippines) hates me because I complain about everything I don't like (I've got three licenses, so I'm entitled to bit**). This "Welcome screen" nonsense is a high point in the foolishness they've come up with in the past decade or so, in an attempt to be more "user-friendly" for the average not-quite-average user.

Remember that when we're talking averages in people, and especially in intelligence, approximately half the population is below average.

So, ... what did you change it to?

The discussion about this da**ed feature has dragged on forever on the CCleaner support forum. The mods who are watching it say that the developers spent a lot of time putting this Welcome Back screen together, and they are not about to abandon it. So registry dampening of the feature will be reversed eventually by default. It's rolling out to users over time, so if you're one of the lucky ones, you haven't got it ... YET.

I have not changed it to anything yet as I don't know what it does for sure..

What a bummer.. they care more about messing up a good program then caring about feedback from PAYING customers..
this program is fast becoming useless... or some other irritable situation..
