OK, so i clicked on something i shouldn't have. Even more stupid than clicking on a well designed phishing lure, i clicked on something i did not understand written in Russian. Now when i click on an email address in FireFox it takes me to a Yandex Mail signup screen. Would someone please tell me how to get this back to using Outlook? Pretty please?

Firefox Settings/General/Applications...
(Perhaps, make sure the link didn't install some weird extension on FF)

Thank you.

Though i had looked at this setting, it did not have Outlook as an option so i thought i must be wrong! This time i selected Other and navigated to Outlook.

I have to quit taking guesses on other language websites...

Uhg. The price of stupidity.

Although i did change that, any email link still calls up the Yandex mail sign up screen. As i have Defender and MWB running, i suspect it must be a settings change. Taking a shot in the dark, i am finding yandex in several Firefox settings:

  1. browser.uiCustomization.state
  2. extensions.webextensions.uuids
  3. privacy.trackingprotection.emailtracking.webapp.domains

Any advice besides "quit doing stupid stuff"?

Maybe remove that Yandex entry from the list and make sure it didn't install some weird extension!

If you install the Yandex browser, you will be asked to set your search engine. In Russia, you set it to Yandex. In the rest of the world, to Google.

The way Google is acting with Facebook and politics over the last couple years, i'm seriously thinking i might prefer Yandex. At least they are honest about their subversion.
