Solved Change domain hosting email servers ?? Ideas

Hi there
does anybody know if it's possible just to change email servers while leaving the domain still registered to its original host.
What I want is not business hosting / website creation etc etc but just somebody who hosts an email server where your mail boxes still have the address [email protected]. I need 3 domain accounts i.e 3 mail boxes with relatively small amount of traffic -- Also if I have say [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] does that count as 3 mail boxes or 2 -- slight confusion over mail boxes and accounts. I'm satisfied with the other services but want to change the email servers as the pricing is going bonkers and if you are doing e-commerce having a gmail email address doesn't IMO look very professional for a business (nothing wrong though for private users).

Any ideas == @z3r010 particularly -- you are good with this sort of stuff - any ideas really appreciated.

Yeah, you just need to change your MX records to point to the new mail servers.

What counts as a mailbox is different for each provider. Some have a catch-all or alias for one box, whereas, for others, each address must be separate.

I think Zoho still offers free custom domain email hosting, but I'm in the middle of something now, so I can't check.

Business hosting for example /wordpress /e-commerce.
It's just I want to uncouple the email.

Zoho looks ideal -- "!just what the doctor ordered" -- will start on that and thanks.

I went for the email lite - €0.90 per month - has just enough features over the freebie to make it worth while-- (why though when shown in GBP it's £0.90. The Banks here aren't saying €1.00 = £1.00 but £1 = around €1.20 so a 20% (almost) price difference. !!!

Just moving the MX recs -- hopefully the email system will be up and running soon. Wasn't any prob with setting it up - with all the other permissions etc needed -- all almost automatic.

@jimbo45 I was playing with the free version of Tailscale yesterday, linking up networks, and I thought this would be right up your street, knowing your history for playing with private VPNs and sharing stuff over different networks. If you've not seen it before, it's definitely worth a look.
