This tutorial will show you how to change the zoom level of Magnifier for your account in Windows 11.
Magnifier makes part or all of your screen bigger so you can see words and images better.
You can change the Magnifier zoom level to choose how much Magnifier enlarges the screen when turned on.
When you turn on Magnifier, it will use the zoom level percentage from last closed by default.
Starting with Windows 11 build 26300.8346 (Experimental 25H2), Magnifier now gives you more control over how you zoom. You can type an exact zoom percentage directly in the magnifier toolbar to land on precisely the level you need.

1 Open Magnifier (
+ Plus).2 Perform an action you want below: (see screenshots below)
- Click/tap on the minus (-) or plus (+) button on the Magnifier toolbar to adjust the zoom level percentage by your set zoom increment.
- Type a custom zoom level between 100-1600 into the percentage field, and press Enter.
1 Open Settings (Win+I).
2 Click/tap on Accessibility on the left side, and click/tap on Magnifier on the right side. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on the Zoom level minus (-) or plus (+) button to adjust the zoom level percentage by your set zoom increment. (see screenshot below)
4 You can now close Settings if you like.
1 Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
2 Navigate to the key below in the left pane of Registry Editor. (see screenshot below step 3)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ScreenMagnifier
3 In the right pane of the ScreenMagnifier key, double click/tap on the Magnification DWORD to modify it. (see screenshot below)
4 Perform the steps below to change the zoom level: (see screenshot below)
- Select (dot) Decimal.
- Enter a value data number between 100 and 1600 for the zoom level percentage you want.
- Click/tap on OK.
5 You can now close Registry Editor if you like.
