Gaming Change Sound Input Device for Xbox Party Chat on Windows 11 PC

Xbox_header.webp

This tutorial will show you how to change the sound input device used by Xbox Party Chat for your account in Windows 11.

The Xbox app for Windows is where you can go to play and manage PC gaming content on your Windows device. Whether you’re an Xbox Game Pass member, or you’ve bought titles from the Microsoft Store, your games await in the app.

Xbox Party Chat allows you to join friends or other players with video or voice chat while playing a game together, watching a show, or hanging out across Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, and mobile devices.

The Xbox Party Chat uses the default system input device by default for speaking or recording.

You can select to have Xbox Party Chat use a different connected input device (ex: headset microphone) than what the system is using (ex: webcam microphone).
