Yes, but get super low latency RAM. That way you get back lost bandwidth. I always pick as low latency RAM as possible when working with laptops. The difference is like night and day.

Yes, pick 2133MHz or check the JDEC tables on faster RAM what latencies (CAS) you get on 2133MHz. Lenovo laptops tend to use JDEC timings when possible. Some even go beyond the specs.

No problem.

Since you're not able to run RAM at super high frequency, it should not matter that much which one you pick. Any "Gaming" RAM should be fine (gaming, because they usually tend to have better CAS values, any Kingston value RAM should also be fine). Lenovo computers aren't usually that picky. HP computers on the other hand are extremely picky.

ok so last one question. Since Lenovo link I posted says max ram is 32GB for me. Should I treat it as ultimate rule here? Because my last hesitation is I dont want to have 1 unused Ram stick cuz: Integrated 4GB already takes 4GB of ram so according to manufacturer my only option is to go for 1x16... or 2x16. Or is this info inflated for no reason? Should I risk with 1x32GB/2x16GB (4+32 in my case)?

any bets if this will cause issues?

It all depends on your CPU model. Safest bet would be to go with a kit of 2x16GB with similar specs to what your current modules have. Ofc you could also just grab one 16GB stick for a total of 20GB but it is always better to have a matching pair of pretested sticks for best result. I would not go for a single 32GB as that may not work.

Also the 700-15ISK uses 6th get i5 or i7 CPU. CPU supports MAX RAM of 64GB, but the laptop firmware may not support it...
It is a risk to go with a 32GB module or even 2 for MAX RAM. It may work or it may not work. I will dig around a bit to see if someone has tested this.

Safest bet for you is to get another 8GB stick. The CPU supports 32GB RAM, but it is a risky move to try out 2x 16GB upgrade. It may work or it may not work...

The specs says MAX 16GB RAM, but that is based on the fact that when the specs were written, there did not exist 16GB modules or they were not officially tested, while 8GB ones were.

I have a laptop from 2011. Specs says it support 8GB of RAM, but I put 16GB in it and it runs fine. 😄

The specs says MAX 16GB RAM, but that is based on the fact that when the specs were written, there did not exist 16GB modules or they were not officially tested, while 8GB ones were.

I have a laptop from 2011. Specs says it support 8GB of RAM, but I put 16GB in it and it runs fine. 😄

I was suggesting this primarily for people with OLDER laptops often pre-2020 with only 4 or 8GB RAM -- these invariably have an easily accessible RAM slot. I know a load of more modern laptops have the entire kybosh rigidly soldered on to the mobo -- even changing / updating built in Nvme (SSD) drive is not possible.

If you have only 1 slot then a single 16GB card is the best value for money -- a single 32 GB RAM card costs (when you can source them) more than 2 X 16 GB cards and I doubt whether upping the RAM on an older laptop to 32 GB is worth it. Spend the difference on replacing a 2.5 inch physical spinner with a 2.5 ins ssd - also cheap these days as modern laptops use internal Nvme now.

I suspect that's why the price of these RAM chips is so cheap as there's less demand for them.

I opened my comp en its seems dat indeed there is an extra slot# available, bevore was slot#1, after it's under the name slot#3.
I'm waiting my Amazon delivery of second slot# 8GB

You are correct in a sense, but there are use cases where it is useful. When using that old machine for VMs or docker containers, plus a platera of other services. I use my 14 years old laptop for this with 16GB of RAM. I wish it supported 32. :-)
