I might do it the easy way. Boot into win7, delete everything I dont want from the win11 partition and apply the image .

If sfc /scannow won't run or tosses an error, when you try to run it... you have bigger problems than just the language.
If you can't get sfc /scannow to run... you need to do a clean install.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
keep nothing would probably work, but it takes so long running setup and all the checking it does.

and there is a very large folder on that partition that i dont want to write back. It is silly to do a lot of unnecessary writes to disk.

It has been an interesting experience.

Believe me, I understand not wanting to do a clean install. But SFC is a pretty basic Windows tool.
It's been around forever, and it... just works.

For those who havent done this before:

The easy way is delete everything in the red squares from the win 11 partition. Leaving those 3 big folders that I dont want to write back where they are. Then just apply the image .

I forgot to say DO NOT delete the documents and settings link because that would delete the user stuff from the os you are currently booted into.

1. Check your system language cant save anything on an upgrade if ISO language and system are different download correct ISO for your language.
2. This is the way I fix windows and have done so for year watch Rich explain how to do it correctly
3.Watch this video and follow his instructions for the correct way to use SFC /scannow

I thought Eng-Intl was actually different from any of the other English languages in terms of setup.

I used that during setup for regional settings to make it a lot easier to get times and dates the way I want easily lol.
