I'm experiencing a persistent issue with Cinema 4D 2027 on Windows 11. The application closes almost immediately after launching, without displaying any error message.

I contacted Maxon Support and went through extensive troubleshooting with their team, including sharing various diagnostic logs. Unfortunately, despite investigating the issue, they were unable to identify the underlying cause.

Strangely, Cinema 4D launches and runs perfectly under a newly created Windows user account on the same laptop. It only crashes under my original Windows account.

Maxon Support concluded that the issue appears to be related to my original Windows user profile and recommended using the new account as a workaround. They also suggested contacting Microsoft Support or seeking assistance from Windows troubleshooting communities.

System specifications

  • OS: Windows 11(26300.9711)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7, 12th generation
  • RAM: 64 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
  • Storage: 2 TB NVMe SSD

Crash details

One of the Windows Event Viewer entries reports:

  • Event ID: 1000 (Application Error)
  • Faulting application: Cinema 4D.exe
  • Faulting module: Cinema 4D.exe
  • Exception code: 0xc0000005
  • Fault offset: 0x0000000000379f62
I'm attaching a ZIP file containing the diagnostic logs generated during troubleshooting. Also enclosing log of event viewer for all cinema4d related entries.

Since the software works correctly under another Windows account on the same machine, I suspect that something specific to my original user profile is causing the crash.

Is there a systematic way to compare the two Windows user profiles to identify the root cause?

Specifically, I'd appreciate guidance on these two …

  1. Comparing per-user registry entries, environment variables, and AppData configurations.
  2. Identifying possible permission issues, conflicting background processes, or corrupted user-specific settings.
My goal is to fix the issue within my existing Windows account rather than migrate to a new user profile, as the original account contains my established software configurations, preferences, and workflows.

I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to systematically diagnose and resolve this issue, particularly from anyone who has encountered similar account-specific application crashes.
