Claude AI >> Google search with AI for gnarly problems

Twice now Google misled me with bad information and twice now I had to recover using Claude AI.

The first time was when I needed to split off my wife from my Apple ID into a separate Apple ID I followed Google's instructions and the end result was my wife books, Calendar and more were all messed up,. and I was able to recover some of those items. And that recovery relied on much better advice from Claude AI. Part of Claude's advice is safety checks and backups before critical steps.

The second time I was almost bamboozled by Google was when I needed to reinitialize my as XT8 mesh router the instructions from Go Google did not match the UI Further Google told me I needed to initialize the mesh node in addition to the main node. In addition I had a problem where the user ID and password were never accepted by the router you I when I had to log in for a second time. Again using Cloud AI I was able to quickly surmount all these issues. Claude also created a step by step guide that was accurate in terms of interface selections and very orderly.

My network topology is a little complicated. I have a an Ethernet switch attached to the mesh node upstairs and two or three systems always connected to the Ethernet switch. In addition I have two printers connected to the switch.

Claude's instructions also included setting up a guest network and which devices in my home to put onto that guest network.

To be fully transparent, I have not tried Open AI.

My bottom line is that while Google is fine for simple searches, for anything complex, I will go straight to Claude from now on.
