Hi All,
I started my computer this morning and started my usual daily visits to my bookmarked sites and I started to get the network internal error that cloudfare was blocked. I never knew anything about cloudfare until today. I Googled it and watched a utube video and found I need to sign up for the free account of cloudfare. So I done that and was able to get on this site so I decided to ask this question. Do we all need cloudfare to access most sites from now on? When I went to submit this post I got the error added a pic of here. Then it refused to allow me to post at all. I closed Firefox and then I could not get back into this forum because cloudfare blocked it. I don't understand what is going on here today. Greatly appreciate if anyone is having this issue today with browsing and know what is going on. I am hoping I can post this after a reboot of my computer.

I got the error this morning as well with a few forums accessed from both FF and Edge.. First time that I have ever seen it. The problem went away after about 5 minutes. No signup to Cloudfare needed.

Cloudflare is out at the moment, possibly another DDoS.

Seems a common thing these days. We've had AWS, Azure and Cloudflare all go out over the last few weeks

Is not an issue caused at your side. Here in the Netherlands many sites have been affected. Cloudfare (a gateway keeper that prevents cyberattacks) gives an internal error. Cloudfare thought they had solved it but it continued. They have said that an update was done in their datacenter in Santiago. (Chili) If that update caused this issue is unknown. Just wait until they fixed the problem. It's not the first time that an update caused a global disruption. This happens if a critical service gets an issue. The implications can be big.

It's intermitted. It's good then an error occurs. Then it's good again etc.

If I look at the reply's. It's a global issue. It's seems that a few critical data nodes are affected. We have in Amsterdam such a critical node. So the EU is also affected. I hope that the Russians are not behind it all. They like to disrupt critical infrastructures.

I doubt it, DDoS mitigation is one of Cloudflare's main Pros (among the most capable at handling such attacks). Maybe... Layer 7 DDoS attacks - not aware of anyone who can handles those with ease (since they mimic legit connections).

Both West and North Europe - apparently. Quad9 is still rock solid - to bad it's not used at least as a fall-back - for times like this, when Cloudflare gets burned (burning everyone involved with their DNS services).

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Probably my fault as as soon as I tried to change £100 into €114 at current rate the whole system crashed, !!!!!

It's always a problem if people rely on 1 provider or one single entity / server / hosting site. Cloudflare is usually perfectly OK but when so many servers / websites etc rely on it around the world then it does need to be hugely more robust so knocking out even a few servers won't cause the whole kybosh to collapse.

Resiliency should be the name of the game even if Chinese / N.Korean / Mossaad / Iranian other hackers are involved.

I've had collegues I know in the UK saying that they could not access the Bank of England web site, some of their banks, the financial ombudsman / regulator and a number of other financial institutions including stock trading platforms.

14.30 local time both here and in UK - UK's financial regulator / Ombudsman site still out of action.

Earlier today, about 3 hours ago I had no trouble getting on several UK and USA websites. In the last hour the Cloudflare servers in London are having difficulties. Any information as to why?
Something must have started to improve because one of the UK sites that was affected has started working.
It gets worrying hearing about all the attacks on the internet nowadays.
