Solved Concurrent Multiple W11 VM's easy on F45 (Fedora Host)

Hi folks
easy to run 2 or more concurrent W11 VM's on latest Fedora F45. Running 2 here - no problems on a reasonable laptop -- one -- ENG Canary W11 build, the other W11 STD 25H2 build. No problems also cutting and pasting data between the VM's and the host or sharing devices.

Note you need to have VL license or proper license for each VM. If you are using the same license key for concurrent VM's then that is technically against the EULA but I don't suppose Ms are going to come after you if you haven't "pirated" W11 or bought from a blocked source. Mine are VL from work.

You'll need to emulate the TPM as obviously you can't pass thru a piece of physical hardware to multiple VM's !!! unless it can be shared e.g disks.

Isn't it easier just to create multiple native boot virtual hard drives?

That way you only need one w11 licence to activate them.

Technically under EULA you need a licence per VM but as you know all vms if same edition activate automatically!

I guess technically, you could create a digital licence per vm but I am not sure that is even possible.

I believe but am not certain that an additional digital licence of same edition would just supersede an older one.

Fun Fact: if you have a Pro digital licence and create a Home Native boot VM, it will activate automatically.

Actually yes - but for some people doing that is a problem whereas just installing Windows via setup.exe on any VM software is simple enough. -- Interesting about the W11 HOME license -- but not really interested in installing W11 HOME.

What is good these days with even a moderately decent laptop is how good VM performance can be -- for many they wouldn't be able to tell any difference between Native and VM speed unless they use
measuring stats -- just sitting at a terminal and doing typical work - they wouldn't be able to tell the difference --- excluding extreme gamers though as that needs the full power of the GPU -- and if you only have 1 GPU / Video card then passing through to a VM is rather difficult unless you operate the HOST in Console / line command mode and have a built in video mode as well.

Video playing e.g VLC, other streaming content, and video editing inc Photoshop etc are perfectly OK on VM's now if you've proper hardware and a decent HOST for the VM software.

Running even apps like SKY GO and ITVX under VPN control on a W11 VM is absolutely fine now -- and I've zero problems with Photoshop etc.
