I've never had Win10 before, haven't seen what File Explorer was like in that edition. Was it more like 7/8.1, or more like what comes with Win11?that style of setup, yes. you can launch the win10 style explorer with the ribbon and just minimize the ribbon if you want.
to do so with NO third party tools, create a shortcut with:

I'm sorry to say I don't understand what you meant about creating a shortcut with the code you gave. I'm such a greenhorn that the only thing I know about shortcuts is I can right-click to create a desktop shortcut (e.g. if I wanted to have a shortcut to a text file on the desktop).
