My HP Desktop PC failed. The hard drive has files on it that I need. I bought a UNITEK hard drive adapter which allowed me to attach the old hard drive to my new PC but Windows File Manager will not allow me to access the contents due to not having the proper permissions. I changed the permission levels to "Full Access" but I keep getting "permission denied" messages. Can anyone tell me how to access my data?

That is the drive that I want to have permissions to. Replace D: with the drive letter of the drive you want to have access to. Leave everything else exactly as it is.
