Hi folks, I need help with this. Had this system for a little over two years now and it's been fine. I currently have an iCue Link hub for my fans - this is connected via internal USB to my MB (MSI MAG Z790 Wi-Fi). My system is on the latest stable release version of Windows 11 25h2; all drivers are kept up to date.
The link hub takes care of 6 fans (no other components are connected to it). Here is a link to the product in question: iCUE LINK System Hub, Black
Today, when I turned on my PC, I got a pop up that said "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)".
Heading over to Device Manager, and the port my iCue Link hub is connected to is showing as "Unknown USB device".
I don't usually have iCue Software running (as I operate HW only settings), but I booted it up and the hub is also not showing up there either. (My RAM and my PSU do show up as normal).
Other observations: my fans continue to spin and light up as normal. I always use HW lighting and consistent fan speeds, and these appear to be still applied despite Windows having issues with recognising the device through USB.
What I've tried:
\- swapping the USB connector to different headers on my MB - this just moves the issue to another header, suggesting that this is NOT an issue with a specific USB header on my MB.
\- reseating the connections at the hub and MB end.
\- uninstalling the USB device from Device Manager and restarting my PC.
\- updating iCue / drivers.
\- reinstalling MB chipset drivers.
Nothing has worked so far. What can I try next? Seems a bit odd that my fans / LEDs continue to operate but Windows has suddenly decided to not recognise my iCue Link Hub.
Aside rant: the reason I’m posting here is that Corsair used to have community forums until they were shut down last August. The community forums were “moved” to Reddit and Discord - I’ve tried posting there about this issue and I’ve heard nothing back in over 24 hours. This simply wouldn’t happen on the Corsair forums, which was populated by knowledgeable and kind individuals who knew Corsair’s products inside and out -
Don’t you just hate it when a company destroys community lead support?
