I want to move files/pages from my "favorites" to a separate folder. These are various manuals for machines and tools I have. I don't want to continue cluttering the "favorites" folder with these files. Can I move them to my documents or downloads or any other file? Thanks for any help someone can provide.

Did you put these files into "favorites" manually and purely by personal choice? How did they arrive in "favorites"?

Are these all just personal documents of one type or another? PDF, doc, jpeg, etc?

Or are they Bookmarks? Or?

Thanks for replying. I'm not sure the type of files they are. As I recall I would go online and download a manual and add it to the favorites folder. I will go into a couple of them now and see if I can tell the file type.

Barring more information from you, anything that is a "personal file" can be moved anywhere it will fit. That would include PDFs. But it might make better sense to put such files in location A rather than location B. That's for you to decide.

If these files are related to your operating system or installed applications, that would be a different question.

Entirely up to you how you organise:

1. If these are Web Browser Favourites(links to Websites) you can make a Folder for your links to your References and Manuals.

2. If these are Text Documents(PDF, Word Doc, TXT, Images) etc then make a Manuals Folder under the Documents Folder, then subfolders for each Machine or Tool.

I would move stuff from the Downloads Folder, otherwise it will get into a messy mix up.

A Web Browser link may lead to a PDF file, displayed in Browser, but you can usually download it and save the PDF File rather than keep using the Website link. Again up to you how you want to play it.

I think they are all what would be personal files, none are "apps". I was hoping there is some way to "drag and drop" or "copy and paste". that's about the extent of my very limited knowledge of computer technology. I will try looking into it again. Thanks again for your help.

The answer is, Yes.
The details vary slightly between different browsers. Which one are you using?
