I have a USB device that prevents my PC from going to sleep, and also has some annoying lights on that I don't want on all the time. I can obviously unplug it, but that isn't ideal. Via device manager, I can disable it, when I open its "USB Input Device Properties" page and click on disable device, and then selecting "yes". At that point, "enable device" is one click away. The problem is it is not easy to look through all my devices each and every time I want to turn it on and off, so how would I make a shortcut to this page?

I have just installed USBDeview, but "disable" doesn't seem to do anything. It allows me to "disconnect" but the only way to reconnect is by unplugging it and plugging it back in. I tried the application with other peripherals and it is the same. And yes, I have it running as administrator.

Update: on the website (View any installed/connected USB device on your system) the download link is near the bottom. You must choose the "Download USBDeview for x64 systems", not the "Download USBDeview", unless you have a 32 bit system. I unknowingly downloaded the 32 bit one, because it isn't labelled as for 32 bit systems.

Everything now works as intended, and the application can create shortcuts for any device to disable/re-enable

Thanks everyone
