Windows 10 ver 22h2
Good morning. I have been trying to share files with my PC and laptop, but keep having the "credential Manager" pop up asking for passwords. Honestly, I do not remember them at all and I have tried different strategies on either removing or replacing them, to no avail. Any suggestions on replacing or removing them? Thanks!

Do you log in to Windows with a Microsoft Account? If so try your Microsoft email and password that belong to the PC you’re trying to log in to

I guess, I sign in. When the PC boots up, I have to put in a 4 digit PIN. I did find the windows credentials on my Work Station PC, but not on my laptop.

As @antspants posted. you need to enter the sign-in info for the computer you're trying to access. I just looked in Credential Manager to see the credentials for my mini-pc and it shows the User name and Password(not the pin). It doesn't show anything about a email address.

Generally a Windows account is an Outlook.com email address & password, but it depends how or if you associated an email address as a login option (Microsoft Account) for Windows.

I think we first need to distinguish if you use a local account or a Microsoft Account:

If it’s a local account, let us know so we can go from there.

If you discover that you use a Microsoft Account and you cannot remember the password:

I found out that I have Microsoft Accounts on both computers. I will follow the link to reset the passwords. Thanks!
