It says asus gigabyte and msi have reported ram prices affecting motherboard sales down by 40-50%. It has been going on since October and getting worse. They are "reassessing their strategies". Don't panic Mr Mainwaring

If it is 50% down maybe that is the bottom for the mobo manufacturers, but who knows. If it goes on for a year or two there will be unpleasant consequences for many.

I dont know what other pies the manufactureres have their fingers in. But if the mobo sales remain depressed obviously they will scale back production and almost inevitably shed staff

The tech world desperately needs more Chinese RAM Manufacturers. Changxin (CXMT) is big in China - but still falling behind the South Koreans (Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix) - PC Wise. They barley made the step to DDR5...

(supposedly, they're also using older nodes 17 nm or 16 nm - compared with Samsung & SK Hynix’s using 12–14 nm processes)

Not sure they can cover global demands, yet. That's the only way for prices to regain their moral ground - and become affordable for the masses again (around 2027+ if not 2035+).

I too use quite a bit of G.Skil however they do not make the memory chips they use. They get them from probably one of the big 3. I was Googling to see whom they buy from but several topics made it sound like it's unknown or not well published.
