Hi. I was wondering if someone could help me with a folder icon related issue.

I use the official Adobe folders, the ones that they themselves made.

Recently I found another Adobe folder collection, one that is unofficial, but with icons Adobe didn't do yet. So it has more icons.

I tried using the ICO files and they end up pixelated. I use Titles as viewing mode for file explorer.

If I change the viewing mode to Large or Extra large they look alright, like the official ones. But I just don't use this mode at all.

I tried converting the PNG files to ICO files with a few free online convertors, but the end is the same. They still look pixelated.

Here is the folder collection. Some of them were already made by Adobe, except Ai, Sp, Dw, Xd and Lr. I also link a picture of an official folder in comparison to an unofficial one.

I really don't know how to fix them. Fortunately, the site is offering more formats for download for free. You just need a free account.

This was about as good as I could get these particular images using Illustrator, Photoshop & Axialis IconWorkshop.
I used the SVG images to create these.
Thanks! I really appreciate your effort.

I tested them out and unfortunately they look blurry.

I found that if I open the SVG files in Illustrator there are paths for each component. Maybe there is a way to upscale and fill it, so we can use higher quality images.

I'll be looking into it.

In case anyone needs it, I was able to take a couple of the icons shared here, mash them together to create the default Windows 11 drive icon. This was useful to me to be able to set the icon for my Windows 11 drive on my dual boot machine.

Where can I download this?

They are @spettojim's yellow set.
I cleaned the icons a bit with unblurring edges and made 8 different images to fit the ".ico file" sizes.

I'm doing the same at the moment on the Adobe collection for @User54678

It's me again.

I managed to find a way to export high quality images from the SVG files. It was actually quite easy. I open them in Illustrator and upscale the paths to 3000 pixels width.

Now the only issue is that when I try to convert the PNG images to ICO files, the 32x32 ends up looking a bit rough.

I used this online converter.

Here is a comparison between an Adobe original and an icon I made. The original is on the left, and it looks so neat that Adobe could have as well edited the 32x32 version themselves.

The edges and color transitions are a bit off. It's not very noticeable, but it would go well with some fixing.

I also tried to resize to 32x32 myself in Photoshop and then convert it into an icon, but it ends up very blurry.

I still have to try Greenfish. I hope I'm lucky.

Any other suggestions?

I leave the full sized PNG file here in case someone wants to have a go at it.

Could anyone make a Calibre folder icon with a folder color other than dark brown? Or a folder icon representing books for people that have a lot of epub and audiobooks in a folder?
Thanks. :)

Hey @davidvkimball, @Lucas North, @Epsilons, @TizianoMad and for all users that contributed to this!

This is off topic but this will help with the icon changing process from being too hard for a normal person, especially changing drive icons.

I will create a program that gets the icons, then the user chooses what he wants to use, then the program will immediately change the icon you've selected on the drive or folder you've selected.

The only problem is that I would need to host the icons on a centralized file sharing service, preferably GitHub so I can just put them on a JSON file, then the program will get the JSON file and on that JSON file, there would be a downloadable link that the program can use. Or the program can just get the whole repo and use like a file-folder structure, that can work offline.

Also the program will be open sourced on GitHub, as usual.

Release date: TBA

Why I'm doing this? I'm bored.
