Hey there, someone else is obviously more than welcome to, but I personally probably won't create custom Windows 11 drive icons for SSD, HDD, and SSHD since I feel the default drive one suits it just fine.

For external drive, the one included with Windows 11 here might fit the bill:



This .ICO file is included in the initial set of icons from my first post.

I just created a Libraries template.



It's meant to be the base for icons like this:



Here it is at each size:



It matches the other Library icons perfectly.

The attached .zip contains a PNG at each size and an .ICO file. Enjoy!

Hi there
You can create whatever icons you like

Simply use a program like icofx (the last free version is still available and for creating simple icons it's fine)

Download IcoFX 1.6.4 for Windows - OldVersion.com

Then for the program / etc - simply "Create short cut" and in the properties you can also select an icon - point to your home made one.

I think they are trying to change the icons in the Library itself, not in a shortcut.

IOW, the same icon displays throughout the system, regardless of where you look at the location from. A shortcut will only have the icon for that one shortcut.

I've been playing Forza Horizons 4 on my PC a bit, and I've fallen in love with a couple of paint job custom colors - one is an iridescent white (a pearl-esque white paint), another is a similar one for black, and a third is a gradient involving reflective maroon with blue undertones (the kind of paint that changes colors depending upon viewing angle).

On my 4k monitor, the pink one in the middle reminds me ever so slightly of that white iridescent, and the next to last one, the ... gradient maroon / fuchsia, reminds me of the last paint job I mentioned.

Just thought I'd mention it because of the similarities - I love all of these - and all of the fine work you and David have been doing.

I could throw about 120 different ones at you, but.....

Here is an easy one.

I run lots of programs in portable mode, from a Programs folder in a separate physical drive. In there, I have both stable versions and some βeta versions as well.

Any chance you could make a folder with the word βeta inscribed on it, with a light orange color, to easily distinguish the βeta apps for me?

I figure that would be easier than doing folder icons for all of these:

Maybe even an ɑlpha folder, red, with ɑlpha on it. And a purple Dev folder.

Heck, even the colors are not absolute, you're the designer here, just as long as they are different from each other and the regular folder color, that would be great!

That's very nice of you to say! And don't worry, I haven't forgotten about your ɑlpha, βeta, and Dev folders. I've just been backed up lately with work in other areas, I still intend to make them, and have them scale down beautifully at every size.

Hey Lucas, I think also that the logo is small unless David can make kind enlargement but having more than one type of folder with the company name is fine for me. Show me what you got.
