Dell Inspiron Laptop Freezes Often

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 3793 with Windows 11, all updates were installed.

Lately my laptop freezes very often, almost every 20 minutes or so and usually lasts about 5 minutes then it's back to normal. I have done the sfc scann and it didn't find any issues, did virus check with AVG and Malwarebytes, nothing detected.

Anyone could tell me what could be the issues that causing the freezes ?

Any comments/suggestions are much appreciated.

I downloaded it again, opened it and the same error appeared in the cmd window.

Get the latest version of the v2 log collector from the following link - V2 Log Collector.

Save log collector V2 log collector 1.xx.zip to where (downloads, for example) you want.

Right-click on V2 log collector 1.xx.zip in the Downloads folder and select Extract All.

This will create a V2 log collector 1.xx folder.

Open the V2 log collector 1.xx folder and double-click on the log-collector shortcut.

A Command Prompt window will open with the Ten Forums Log Collector running in it.

Press the Enter key to start the collection process.

I fixed a similar issue on a friend's Dell laptop by removing all traces of Dell Support Assist.

Hello,

I have successfully removed everything related to Dell Support Assist and so far so good, will see how it goes in the next few days and will post an update here. I'll try V2 Log Collector instrctions later too.

It has been three hours now since I uninstalled everything related to Dell Support Assist and my laptop hasn't frozen once, so wonderful! That's one of the last things I would have thought that will cause my laptop froze so much. Before the uninstall, I did notice there were several Dell processes in the Task Manager and wonder why there are so many and why were they all running, now I know those were the culprits. Now they are all gone.

Agrees with what I found then. I dimly remember despite uninstalling DSA there were some leftovers which I disabled using Autoruns. I now view these update tools as the work of the devil and just do manual driver updates by checking for new updates directly periodically.
