Solved Desktop image gone and flashes for a second then it return back again, what causing this problem ?

In Windows 11 pro after I login for some time the desktop become black for a second then it restore itself again, and sometimes when I run visual studio this happen again. What can cause this problem ?

I looked at events and found problem with explorer.exe but how to fix that ?

Open a command prompt as admin, and run these commands one at a time...

sfc /scannow

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Then see if the problem still exists.






Question: Do you have File Explorer tabs... disabled?

I ask, because after the Jan 23rd Cumulative Update Preview, every time I tried to open File Explorer, my Desktop would disappear for a second or two, then come back.... and File Explorer would NOT open.

This was the Solution in my case...


Note the "date modified" on this Details sheet...

So even if MY solution is not applicable in your case... it will probably have something to do with the Jan 23rd Cumulative Update Preview.

Run the DISM command too, then reboot a few times and see if the problem is fixed.
As for ntdll.dll I dunno.
That's more in the BSOD analysis realm. Maybe @zbook will have an idea.

Thanks I did it now, will test for couple of days and see

I also used this app Shell view-x64 to remove unnecessary extensions
