Windows 11 - Release Preview channel
This has happened to me two or three times now. After a reboot (sometimes cold boot) my desktop wallpaper is set back to the last wallpaper image I set before the current one.

Has this happened to anyone before? It is not happening regularly but only once so often which strikes me as odd. :unsure:

My background is set to be a static picture and not a slideshow. However Power Options says slideshow is available when plugged in. :unsure:

That can be changed in Control Panel>Power Options>Change When to turn off the display>change advanced pow settings

I notice in Settings/Personalization/Themes that my background says ImageGlass which is the photo viewing app I'm using. Doesn't it normally say the file name of the background image there? I wonder if ImageGlass could be causing these background changes?

I can't find any setting in Image Glass that would suggest it can control background image changes. I'm now wondering if it's an indexing issue as I've been having constant indexing issues with this install of Win 11....

Did you try my other suggestion about creating a separate image? Could well be an indexing issue, I have heard of a few problems with it

I haven't yet but I think I will also try setting Microsoft photos back as the default photo viewer and see if this behavior continues or stops.
