Desktop Window Manager maxing out GPU.

I think your problem is related volmgr.

I think this is a driver or hardware issues. And maybe related to Nvidia GPU.

Can you double click it volmgr and check if the date and time, the DWM problem occurs?

Have you tried playing Gears 5 without having OBS running at the same time? This may be related to capturing video while playing on the 1080 Ti.

When I launch Gears 5 again, I check if an error pops up. I had to restore my PC because of an unrelated issue.

I have, yes. It didn't seem to make a difference. After some time, it always shows DWM using my GPU instead of the game I'm playing.

I wouldn't mind that if it didn't horribly degrade my desktop performance.

I have been having exactly this same issue with my desktop machine!! Ever since upgrading to Windows 11 I've been having stutters/hangs, and significant input lag. During that time, GPU usage of 'Desktop Windows Manager' would spike.

One thing I tried that seemed to help (at least the input lag portion), is to disable 'Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling'. Since then (~24 hours ago), I have had zero input lag, no more beeps when moving the mouse.

Hulky, have you tried this yet?
Settings, System->Display->Graphics, 'Change Default Graphics Settings', Disable 'Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling'

I have not, no.

I had it enabled due to it being recommend to be on.

I'll try that now. Thanks!

I tried it. It hasn't fixed it, sadly.

I concur. I think it helped the input side of my case (less frequency of input lag), but I am still seeing the problem too.

You should try to disable "Transparency Effects" under Personalisation -> Couleurs/Colors (in french édition).
This fixed the issue in my case.Capture d’écran 2021-12-31 173932.png
