Been using it for years. Cant live without it.

The app I use for desktop icons is called AlomWare Toolbox. It can do icon layouts based on names that you give, which can be invoked from a hotkey or other method. They have an example at the bottom of their "Tips" page: AlomWare Toolbox - Tips
