Win 11 22H2
Hello,

I am having issues with my Win 11 Pro 24H2 install. I have DISM errors which I cannot correct. When I updated to Build 26100.3775 it was okay when I checked DISM and sfc /scannow,

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

After a week I checked again via,

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

and there was this error that it cannot find the 'Source" files. The sfc /scannow has no issues.

Now I have the ISO file here,

26100.2033.241005-0756.GE_RELEASE_SVC_PROD1_CLIENTPROFESSIONALVL_VOL_X64FRE_EN-US.iso

and I mounted it but the same results came out -- 'The source files cannot be found".

Now I checked here and found this thread, DISM.EXE files check component store and following it I used the 'Farbar Recovery Scan Tool".

If it works then you're set.

If it fails then download to a new desktop folder:

then mount the iso and perform an in place upgrade repair using the new desktop iso: (make sure that the steps in option two are followed)

You need to mount the ISO and then mount the Windows image, e.g. install.wim. Then you can use a DISM to repair the online image using an offline source.

In the example below, I have assumed that a suitable image is mounted in the folder: c:\mountfolder.

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth /source:c:\mountfolder\ /limitaccess

/limitaccess should prevent an attempt to access Windows Update, but disconnecting your internet connection would be a good idea.

This method should work fine with an image of the same or higher build level.

Hi so sorry for not replying here. We had a problem here concerning a land dispute so I was indisposed.

I have successfully did a repair install and I am now with Win 11 24H2 26100.3775. Now the thing that I am about to ask is when I hit Windows Update for the May 2025 it was saying that I need to download KB5055223 and KB890830 still!

I tried to install the .msu of KB5058411
but it says an error. So I tried to install via PowerShell. Restart says that is applying the update and I should keep the pc on. But after the reboot I am still at Win 11 24H2 26100.3775!

What should I do...? Will I disregard it?

To add (sorry I forgot), when I ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth there wasn't any corruption as well as in sfc /scannow.

How can I update with KB5058411 if Windows Update says I need to download KB505523 and KB890830?

UPDATES-DILEMMA.png

This is the latest image I just got earlier. The bottom part are the updates that were successfully installed. I intentionality stopped the KB5055523 download and rebooted.

What should I do?

Why is Windows Update telling me that I need to download KB5055523 but the repair install already included KB5055523 thus I am Win 11 24H2 26100.3775?

Thanks all!

Here is the ScanHealth and sfc /scannow results. The KB890830 was for v5.133 so it's okay I thought that it was the same as of last (v5.132).

Have you used the latest Windows 11 ISO image to upgrade to the newest version?

Use Windows Update Troubleshooter.

  • Right-click on Start button and pick Settings
  • Go to System > Troubleshoot
  • Click on Other Troubleshooters > Windows Update and click Run button.

Download Windows updates manually.

  • Go to the official Microsoft update catalog;
  • Enter a specific update code, for example, KB4481031
  • Select the correct version and click Download
  • Click on the link and Windows will update your computer

Resetting the Windows Update components can usually solve these types of issues.

Yes, as per reply#9 I downloaded the latest then updated to KB5055523 via the official .msu thus I am at 26100.3775 now.

Downloaded the official .msu lf KB5058411 below.

Will check out the 'Windows Update Troubleshooter' and 'Reset Windows Update' later.

May I ask what happens when I reset 'Windows Update'..?

I ask so I prep for it.
