Dismiss Google Sign in Popups - How?

I have moved on from Chrome and Google and using FF. When I go to a few sites I still get -- sign in prompts as in:




Is there any way to stop this?

I have never found a way to disable that. It’s persistent and seems to be unstoppable.

When specifically are you seeing it, Patsy? What sites. Or is it just when you use Google?
In fact, I believe that it has a lot to do with websites that are actively subscribed to allow a user to utilise their Google Account as a sign in option.

Your search engine is your friend. Just did a simple basic search based on your query >>>> multiple options

If you have a Google Account, and you are ALWAYS signed into it, I believe there is an option to disable it. BUT if you sign out of Google, you’ll most likely see that message again.

Hi AP- not when I use 'google. I am using FF but if I go to certain sites - not that many - that little popup pops up!! Guess I have to live with it. Thanks for your thoughts.
If you have a Google Account, and you are ALWAYS signed into it, I believe there is an option to disable it--I'll give this a go...tx!

Brave browser has a built-in settings option to block Google sign ins.

Yeah, sorry Patsy. It has to do with specific sites, not Firefox (or any other browser specific). It happens on every browser I believe, it’s an opt in feature for website owners to allow or disallow. They have affiliations or something with Google.

If you’re happy to always be signed into Google (I think that’s how it works)

• Go to myaccount.google.com
• "Data & privacy"
• Scroll to "Data from apps and services you use" and click on "Third-party apps & services"
• Click on the settings icon in the top right corner
• Uncheck "Google Account sign-in prompts"

I moved away from FF to Chrome many years ago. I don't remember ever seeing that message. But that may be due to the way I manage my computers.

First, I never log out or reboot, except when I get an update. When I am done using my laptop, I simply close the lid. That puts it in hibernate. When I want to use it again, I just open the lid and press the start button. Everything starts back up the way it was, before I closed the lid. That includes Chrome with all my previous tabs and a Google login.

To satisfy Google, I have a couple of ".gmail" accounts set up. However, I never actually use them. I send them a message, now and then, just to make sure they are working. But that is the only activity they get. They don't even get spam. Once in a while they get a message from Google telling me about the terms of service. I usually just ignore it and throw it away. One of "gmail" account is logged in to Chrome and stays that way.

I also have a Windows 10 desktop that uses Chrome. That system I never shut down. If a update comes along, it will get installed and the computer rebooted. But when I log back in, Chrome comes up again, the same way it was before the update, and I just move on. No Google login message. I use the same Google account as my Windows 11 laptop.

And, in the end, if any web site requires me to do anything, like approve cookies, disable something, or log in, I delete them. They have nothing that I can't get from another web site.
